Dr Dre Discusses Straight Outta Compton's Dark Areas

Dr. Dre says that Universal Pictures, which released the N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Compton on August 14, played a pivotal role in properly presenting the group.

“They understood that we wanted to protect our legacy and they really paid attention to that,” Dr. Dre said prior to the world premiere of Straight Outta Compton at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles yesterday (August 11). 

The film shot in some of the same areas in Los Angeles county in which N.W.A members Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Eazy-E, MC Ren and DJ Yella were raised. Dr. Dre expressed gratitude at the premiere for the hospitality shown while the film was on location throughout Los Angeles County.

Whitney Houston who was close friends with Perry, died in February 2012 from drugs and drowning in a bathtub.
