BirdMan Sues JayZ For $50 Million !

The legal battle between Cash Money and Lil Wayne has just got messier AND received a new player: Jay Z’s TIDAL.

Cash Money is suing TIDAL for $50 million for streaming Wayne’s latest project The Free Weezy Album. In the lawsuit, Cash Money alleges to have exclusive rights to Wayne’s music, and TIDAL is using Weezy’s latest as “a desperate and illegal attempt to save their struggling streaming service.”

TIDAL’s defense is Wayne gave them the rights to stream the music in exchange for partial ownership of the company. Cash Money maintains there’s a specific clause in Weezy’s contract that forbids him to license his music to outside parties without the permission of Cash Money. The lawsuit continues by saying Wayne’s latest contribution has received lukewarm reviews, which in turn maybe a loss for the company.
News of Cash Money’s lawsuit against TIDAL comes on the heels of a Birdman and Young Thug indictment because of their alleged involvement in a shooting on Lil Wayne’s tour bus last April.
