Nas, ASAP Rockey & Jennifer Hudson To Star In 'Monster'

Nas, A$AP Rocky, and Jennifer Hudson are teaming up, but this time on the big screen.The music superstars have joined the cast of Monster, which will be led by Roots actor Kelvin Harrison Jr. and co-star Tim Blake Nelson, John David Washington, Jennifer Ehle, and Jeffery Wright.



Monster is about a 17-year-old in Harlem, played by Harrison, who is being charged with felony murder for a crime he denies committing, according to The Hollywood Reporter.



Anthony Mandler, the director behind music videos for Rihanna, Drake, and Taylor Swift, will be making his directorial debut on the big screen with Monster.

The hip-hop and R&B connection continues as John Legend’s Get Lifted Film Co. and Tonik Productions will team up with Bron Studios for the movie. Legend and Nas will also serve as executive producers and will be integral in the film’s musical direction.

Bron Studios is also behind Nate Parker’s The Birth of a Nation and the upcoming Fences starring Denzel Washington.
