“What a shame,” raps a vulnerable Safaree. “We’re together, but nobody knows / Ain’t no public display of affection, it shows.”
At one point in the black-and-white clip, the “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood” star—who’s now managed by Debra Antney—gets a phone call from the song’s muse. “When we go out,” he says, “you ain’t holding my hand. You 10 steps ahead of me. Nobody even knows we’re together.”
Asked about the new visual, SB told Rap-Up that it’s a sign of his resilience. “Life has just begun for me,” he explained, “and I’m not giving up on what I want.”
“Can’t Lie” can be found on last year’s mixtape It Is What It Is, Vol. 2. Watch the in-studio clip below.
